Pixton is a comic-making software which is a very useful tool if you want to Discover, share, and create comics for contests, discussion forums, etc. This software can be used for fun, educational and business purposes. If you want to make use of it for an educational idea, it is a visual writing tool for all subjects where you can personalize in a private environment; also, it’s aligned with curriculum standards. Moreover, It can be use for business too because it is a Comic storyboarding tool which is perfect for marketing & training. What about its price? This tool can be used for free for a month; and its price before the month of practicing it’s of $2.95.
Comics can help early readers with language by providing visual clues to the context of the narrative. For more advanced readers, comics can contain all the complexity of 'normal' written material which the student must comprehend, such as: alliteration, puns, metaphors, symbolism, context, inference, point of view and narrative structures. In addition, comics also have the ability to meet the needs of students in a variety of learning styles, making reference to many of Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences.

Pixton is awesome. I spent two full days creating my comic strip, I created it in 2006 and when I went to the site a couple of weeks ago, I was editing it & dang! the first half of my strip did... poof! It was such a cool strip. It reffered to the use of comic strips as a cool way to have our EFL students read & write in English.

Now, I won´t grade this post until you create your own Pixton comic strip and post it. This Pixton tool is planned for the 2nd cut posts. I planned to assign this tool to a group and the group had to create a comics strip as an example. SOOOOO..... get back to work. You´ll enjoy doing it Carlos, you can ask Gabriel to do it with you. Plan the dialogue and put your creativity in turbo mode ;-P
Love it! Love it! Love it! This is the kind of material I like to use with my students; it's fun, creative and meaningful.. I'm totally going to use this program because when I work with this kind of activity I always have to scan some ilustrated books that I have and that's a lot of work...
