Technology advantages of the present made us reflect about the use social networks, video blogs, wikis, podcasts and some other multimedia features that ESL learners can take into account in theirs learning process; because of this, in our first post we mention the usefulness of some technological tools as method of learning, these tools are wikis and podcasts and the relationship that both share with e –learning.

Podcasting

Firstly, we need to know what podcast is about; podcasting is a way of downloading pre -recorders audio programs that are published in a website to your personal computer or mobile devices. So people can listen to them whenever they want to and wherever they are...thanks to this, a person who wants to be stick listening to these kind of programs can have access to them becoming a subscriber of the website, so that when new podcasts are posted they can automatically be delivered to a subscriber’s computer or personal device.

That's why podcasting have been higlighted as a neccesary method of producing media mobile devices in which ESL l
earners enjoy a personal development in their learning process; due to the fact that, this is an excellet way to learnd an teach a lot of topics relatated to live, cultures, and ways of live. This awesome estrategy could be used to learn the target language because it allows learners to develop their comunicative competences.

A Wiki

It is a website that allows users to add and update content on the site using their own Web browser. Wiki’s software runs on the web server. Wikis are created by a collaborative effort of the site visitors. A great example of a large wiki is the Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia in many languages that anyone can edit. The term "wiki" comes from the Hawaiian phrase, "wiki wiki," which means "super fast."

E- Learning

It is the use of technology to permit people learning anytime and anywhere. E-Learning can include training, the delivery of just-in-time information and guidance from experts.

Podcasting and e-learning are linked in the educational field since both are technological tools for learners. Podcasting has the potential to improve learning by giving students mobile access to course materials anytime and anywhere. Both complement the traditional face-to-face teaching into an eclectic learning environment which increases students' learner satisfaction.

As some examples, we have this video which explains what podcasting is and it also contains a situation in which a person from the United States who loves Japanese culture downloads the content of the podcast by becoming a subscriber. This guy listens to his Japanese program in his journey to his job while he is on the bus...

As an example of pod-casting we selected this wonderful Venezuelan blog which offers people the a vast variety of contents by categories, check it out http://podcast-venezuela.blogspot.com/

An example of what a wiki is and how it can be used by a group of friend, check this video and you will find the way they gathered information about their holidays through a wiki. They did not needed to re-send each other emails over and over again because every person can edit the information posted in it.

To end up with examples, as an example of e-learning we can take into account websites designed for learners like this one http://www.english-4u.de/ in which students can practice and learn through gramar exercises, crosswords and games, this is another one: http://www.mingoville.com/es.html

In summary, a wiki is very useful because it allows users to add and update content on the site using their own Web browser. Wikis are created by a coperative effort of the site visitors. The word Wiki means "super fast." On the other hand, in regars to E-Learning, we can conclude that it is a new way of teaching and learning with the use of technology. At thesame time, this type of teaching/learning can be made through distance.

In the same order of ideas, postcasting will be the teacher of a near future because is useful, interesting and easy to use. the information can be downloaded for free and saved in our computer or mobile device. The more we use postcasting, the more e learning ability could come to our lives.

  1. Nice work. It needs quite some editing , though.
Good information, easy to follow. Short but meaty. Nice collaboration piece of information.
Fix gramma, coherence, punctuation and spelling issues.
Change background and name of your blog; you have used the same BG & name more than 2 tiemes in the past.
    Do not introduce
paragraphs with colored fonts; they look as they are titles.
First title is not well writte. Eliminate question marks in titles.
    Great images!!
Use sma font style ans size throughout the whole blog unless there's a real need to use different styles and sizes.
Place videos below each of the topics; not at the end of the whole post; besides, we can´t see them. Fix that.
Make changes to get a better grade.
